Nishijin Sky was developed in collaboration with the internationally respected contemporary artist Teresita Fernández, known for her site-specific installations and visual expressions of experiences of landscapes and natural phenomena. 1.9m high and 6m wide in size, the tapestry was mounted in a brass frame and hung from the ceiling as it was exhibited by the Kyoto University of Art and Design. Translucent from the front but a revlective surface of gold on the back, the work is a beautiful exploration of the conception and experience of space.
